The St. John’s Montessori Academy’s waterfront location offers a calm and peaceful setting for children to learn, play, and explore. The “prepared environment” is Maria Montessori’s philosophy where the environment can be designed to facilitate maximum independent learning and exploration by the child. With this in mind, SJMA is unique because it is the only Montessori school in the area that offers an integrated infant/nursery program for children as young as 3 months.  We also offer a Young Montessori program for children starting at 14 months, a Toddler Montessori program for children 20 months and a Pre K/K Montessori program for children that are fully potty trained starts at age 3 Years. SJMA’s Food Program is environmentally-friendly and aims at instilling healthy eating habits, coaching good table manners, teaching basic cooking skills, and expanding the children’s knowledge of nutrition and food- related vocabulary, while incorporating the concepts found in Montessori Practical Life, Math and Gardening Lessons. The program includes home-style breakfast, lunch and snack on a daily basis. In addition to the food program the tuition at SJMA includes French, Spanish, Yoga, Movement and Kidokinetics. For an additional fee an after-school program is available until 6:00 p.m.  Please call to schedule an appointment to see the children at work and to find out more about our school.                                    *** NOW ENROLLING FOR SUMMER CAMP *** JUNE 11TH – JULY 27TH  (For Tennis Program Flyer   Click Here )          REGISTRATION PK 2012   /  REGISTRATION TODDLERS 2012    The Montessori Academy at St. John’s has been a ministry of St. John’s United Methodist Church since 1990.
